The Town of Susan Moore is a small, residential community located just north of the City of Oneonta. Settled by the Robert M. Moore family around 1865, the town was initially known as Clarence, Alabama until two grandsons of the original founding family donated funds for the first new high school, which they named in honor of their mother, Susan Moore. The town was officially incorporated under that name in 1982. Susan Moore K-12 school, which serves both the Susan Moore and Snead areas of Blount County is now part of the larger Blount County School system.

Home to picturesque family farms, as well as traditional neighborhoods and small family businesses, the Town of Susan Moore provides a great opportunity to enjoy the quaintness of rural life, while still being close to modern amenities.
